About Me

Are you looking for ideas to live life one moment at a time? If so, you will feel right at home here. Life can get crazy, so you’ll find homemaking tips, recipes, and encouragement to open your heart and mind to the Lord. If you are looking for homeschooling tips and encouragement, I got you covered.

I have a secret you must know first thing: I AM NO EXPERT! Yes, you read that correctly, I’m a wife and mom sharing what I am learning in my life.

Here’s the short story on how Frog’s Lilypad came to be. In 2008, living in western Montana, I learned about blogs after coming across one while searching for a singing group. Little did I know the author would become one of my dearest friends and encouragements. When I started this site, my husband helped me with the name since I wanted it to be a part of who I am. (My husband’s elderly uncle gave me the nickname Frog before he passed away.) I spent several hours one day trying to come up with the name, but within a matter of minutes, my husband nailed it; he’s awesome like that! You can read the long story of THE BEGINNING OF FROG’S LILYPAD.

WHO I AM:

My name is Lori and I am a wife to an amazing husband. Momma to one mighty fine young adult who still thinks it’s awesome I look up at him when we are talking.

I am a girl of the 70s, and that means I’m past 50. But, I’m okay with where I am at this stage of life. In fact, I shared a cute story about how I’m Living Life to the Fullest.

I taught school for 12 years before hanging up my ruler to fulfill the career of my dreams. While teaching was a dream job for me, being a full-time wife and mother, caring for our home is my dream career. In fact, it’s not a career but a ministry I am called to do.

I could write a list a mile long of things I love, but I won’t. Here are just a few of those things: cooking and baking, knitting, flowers (yellow roses and daisies are my favorites), frogs, the colors green and yellow, and clean fresh smells. While I have many things I love, there are some things I dislike: wet socks, wet sleeves, clutter, horrible smells, whiners, and dishonesty.
