Homeschooling Fun...

I have been super busy the past couple of days, trying to figure out what to do about pictures for my son's animal notebook. I had downloaded some pictures and printed them and they looked horrible.

After racking my brain, I decided to go to the thrift store to look for books about animals. All the way there, I was praying that I would find everything that I needed.

Hallelujah!!!! I found several. I did have to go to 2 stores in town, but I did find what I was looking for. The only pictures I did have to print were of a salamander and a mud puppy.

I did find some other little fun books for my son. We have been reading jokes to each other all afternoon from some joke books that I bought. I also found the complete set of Thomas the Tank Engine stories in a Collectible book. I remember when my son was about 4 years old, I wanted to buy him this book, but we just did not have the money to spend on a new book. I paid 50 cents for this book. What a blessing. I have to say, that Monkey has really enjoyed spending several hours of reading, some of his favorite stories.

Anyway, back to the books of animals... I think what hurt the most, was knowing that I was going to end up having to cut the books apart, so we can use them for his notebook. We have really enjoyed putting this notebook together.

I told Monkey how, I did this same Science notebook, when I was in third grade. I told him what it looked like and how I cut, and cut, and cut, and cut some more on letters for the labeling of each of the animals. Now, after almost 30 years have past, I am asking."Why in the world did we not use the typewriter?" It would have been a lot easier.
