I am His

I think about the excitement that is on the face of a child, when they are given something to be their own. As long as that child is encouraged to  love and take care of that item, they will do it. They will tell people that it belongs to them.  If something ever happens to it, they grieve over it.  Children are can be so compassionate over things that we adults don’t think twice about.

I can only imagine how Jesus felt, when He was given us Christians.

In John 17 we find the Prayer of Intercession. This is the true Lord’s Prayer.  In verse 9 we read, I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are mine.

When I think about these words: I pray for them and for them which thou hast given me; for they are mine. There is a lot of comfort in those words. To know that Jesus prays for me and He considers me His own.  To know that He will “grieve” over mistakes, that I make, but He will also forgive me, when I ask for forgiveness.

Thank you, Lord for loving me.
