Faith In Uncertain Times

If we have faith to pray, we have faith to trust God. We don’t need a lot of faith, just enough to keep hanging on and believing in the promise God will see us through.

Faith is the word I am focusing on in my life this year. It is not something you work on for  twelve months and move on to something else, it is a lifelong journey. A journey required to make it through any situation. Faith in uncertain times.

Faith is a lifelong journey. A journey required to make it through any situation. Faith in Uncertain Times.

For we walk by faith, not by sight: II Corinthians 5:7

I would like to believe I had total faith in the Lord for every tough situation I went through over the years. But, I didn’t. Sometimes I stepped out of the boat, took a step and saw the waves of life crash around me. I took my eyes off the Lord and didn’t give him a chance to work. My faith in Him diminished because my concern was elsewhere. But you know what? While my eyes were not on the Lord, He had His eyes on me. When I sank, He lifted me up above the waters of life. And I’m thankful for His faithfulness when I wasn’t faithful to Him.

Faith In Uncertain Times

There’s a change coming in my family’s lives. A change I prayed for since 2013, but happening in a way that took my husband and me by surprise. The talk of this change began last spring, but me being hesitant, I dug my heels in because it is not what I had prayed for. It is not what I expected God to do. It is not how it is supposed to turn out. Anytime my husband brought up the subject, I smiled and shook my head hiding how I felt.

And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God Mark 11:22

Recently, the Lord used a situation to shake my world. It was nothing catastrophic, but bad enough for me to pick up my heels and say, okay, Lord, it’s all on you now; if this is what you want from us, I will do it. This is a scary situation, but my faith in the Lord will see us through with this change.

The past 136 days I have prayed I would keep my faith in the Lord no matter what. But not only for me, I’ve prayed this for my husband and son because I don’t want any of us to lose faith in God.  A prayer I will continue praying for my family.

Life with no faith in God can be detrimental.

For with God nothing shall be impossible.  Luke 1:37

We’ve talked about this change and I told my husband the Lord will work out the two things that need to be done; he needs to have faith to get the ball rolling. During this conversation, he told me he really didn’t have the faith right now; he had no clue how it will work out. I reminded him all we need is mustard seed size faith to move a mountain. (Matthew 17:20) I’ll never forget the question he asked, how much faith fills a mustard seed. Instead of us asking for more faith, we will be using the faith we have to trust the Lord in all of what is going on.

That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. I Corinthians 2:5

We may struggle with faith, but as long as we have it and are not wavering in our belief in God, He will do wondrous things.  I can't help but remember a statement I heard from a pastor  "If you have enough faith to pray, you have enough faith to see God work". As I said earlier, I've been praying for three years, I have faith to see God work all of this for His glory.

Think about all the things the Lord has done for us, why would we not have faith in Him?

When this change begins, I will share the situation and the wonderful things the Lord will be doing.
