Faithful - My Word for 2016

For several years now, I have chosen one word to focus on throughout the year. I find those words to really help in my daily life. My word for 2016 was one that I hadn’t even considered when I began thinking about it.  Anytime I thought about choosing a word, I prayed about it, but I never really focused on asking the Lord to show me a word for 2016.  At the beginning of December, I felt maybe the Lord didn’t want me to have a word for the year or maybe not share it because I never had peace about any words that came to mind.
Faithful – My word for 2016, I find choosing a word for the year to really help in my daily life. Faithful is a word that must become a way of life. I want to be found faithful in every area of my life. frogslilypad.net

It wasn’t until I asked the Lord what He would want me to work more on in the new year when He showed me the word FAITHFUL.

Faithful - My Word for 2016

When the Lord showed me the word FAITHFUL, I was quickly reminded how He has always been FAITHFUL to me and my family.  I was also reminded how I still battle at keeping my faith in the Lord where it should be. It’s so easy to waver when times get rough!

Being FAITHFUL to the Lord and to my family and home (I’m bad at spending more time doing other things while caring for them doesn’t get my full attention) is what I’m going to be working on this year.

Faithfulness is something that I’ll have to work on the rest of my life; it won’t be just a one year thing. It will have to become a way of life. I don’t want to be found doing things haphazardly, I want to be found faithful in my daily life for the Lord and for my family.

Watch ye, stand fast in the faith...be strong. I Corinthians 16:13

Peace:My Word and Verse for 2015

Choosing a word for this year has been hard for me. I had another word I had wanted to work on and even bought a book with the word in the title, but anytime I tried to write about it, it just would not come together. While I know that word is something I need to work on, there is another word I feel the Lord wants me to deal with in my life. MY WORD FOR 2015 is PEACE.

Peace: My One Word for 2015

Did you know there are 400 verses in the Bible that have the word PEACE? While some deal with the PEACE offerings with the children of Israel, others deal with living a PEACEful life, someone holding their PEACE (tongue control), and others talk about the PEACE that only God can give.

I wrote about PEACE in the past. Every time I come across Hebrews 12:14, I can’t help but focus on the words without which no man shall see the Lord.  When we are not PEACEful, the Lord is not being seen in us. As Christians, Christ is supposed to be seen in everything we do.

As a wife and mom, I am the pot stirrer in our home. I’m either going to forcefully stir the pot for more heat and out of control actions, or I’m going to easily stir the pot for a more peaceful outcome. I will go ahead and tell you because I want to be truthful; I like to forcefully stir the pot sometimes. I want to be Mrs. It and come out on top. This is NOTHING to be PROUD of!

We’ve all heard the saying, “If Momma ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy”; while many will giggle or smile at this saying, I have come to the conclusion that this is just SAD! I want my husband and son happy.  I want our home to be the peaceful, safe haven for my husband when he comes in from work. I want my son to look back on his childhood years and think fondly of the moments that were created. I want to be remembered as a PEACE living wife and mother. I don’t want to be the reason for Satan to enter our home and tear it apart.

Those who live in our homes know the REAL us. They see us every day during good moments and even our disturbing moments.  Our husbands and children are the ones who are going to either rotate around us, or they are going to push away from us as far as they can.  I want my husband and son to rotate around me.

Stirring the pot PEACEfully is not always easy. There are times when situations come up and anger flares or defeat, sadness, and even discouragement rises to the top. But with the Lord’s help, we can be more PEACEful.

The Lord blesses the PEACEmakers according to Matthew 5:9. I want to be a PEACEmaker; I want the Lord’s blessings on my life. I want others to see Christ in me.

Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.

Share: My Word and Verse For the Year

It has been several years since I have made any New Year's resolutions. If you are one who makes them, I hope you stick with them.  I’d rather focus on a word and verse for a year.

When I stopped making resolutions, I began choosing a  Bible verse to focus on for the year. Although, I don't write about it every year because sometimes it is a personal thing for me, but I do focus on one and try to apply it to my life.   The verse I chose to focus on this year came to me through a Bible study I am doing with some local ladies. This year that verse will be Mark 16:15 along with this verse I am adding a word to work on.  I've seen other people talk about a word for the year for several years and this year, I chose one. It goes along with Mark 16:15, you can probably guess what it is.

I grew up hearing sermons preached on sharing the Gospel with those around us. It's not a new thing for me, but is it something I need to work on more.

Salvation is the most valuable gift anyone could be given. Many will not get a chance to hear about Jesus and what he did for them, we fail those people by not speaking up. Seriously, what is the worst that can happen? We are told to go away, they are not interested or we possibly lose a friend. I think it is better to take a chance on losing a friend now than to lose them for eternity.  When we (try to) talk to these people about Jesus, we complete a responsibility and the Lord will do the rest.

This year, I am focusing on sharing the
Gospel more with those I come in contact with. Will you join me?

Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world,
and preach the gospel to every creature.
